Bad breath is usually caused
by bacteria that grow in the mouth. These bacteria release
foul smelling compounds causing your breath to smell.
Eating pungent food like onion, garlic may cause your
breath to smell bad. Other medical conditions like sinusitis
or gum disease may also cause bad breath.
First and foremost, brush your
teeth properly (see – how do we take care of our teeth)
and keep your teeth tartar and plaque free. If bad breath
still persists, consult your doctor to check for other
medical problems. Using mouth wash, sugar free chewing
gum or sucking mints may temporarily help to mask the
odor but it will not treat the problem.
